Jen and Steven’s Wedding Reception was held at Clevedon Hall, a grade II listed mansion house settled within 17 acres of stunning gardens in Clevedon, North Somerset. clevedonhall.co.uk is an exclusive use venue with 25 luxuriously designed bedrooms for you and your guests to enjoy. It also boasts a terrace, gazebo lawns and stunning lake within the beautiful grounds, so if an outdoor wedding is your vibe then Clevedon Hall could be the venue for you! This really is a special place to celebrate your vows, whatever the season.

Jen and Steven had heard about my Wedding Cake services through Clevedon Hall directly as I am on their Recommended Supplier listing. The very first time I met with them at their Cake Tasting Consultation we immediately bonded over our mutual love of our fur babies and I just knew we were going to get along perfectly. Their gorgeous dog even made a special appearance at the wedding as you can see in the image above - just adorable! Jen & Steven are such a warm and friendly couple and it was so lovely to hear all about their story and their big wedding plans and I was so excited and honoured to be asked to make their wedding cake!

They really loved one of my original designs so we used this as the basis for their wedding cake but tweaked it to suit their colour palette of mulberry, blush and ivory. They opted for handmade sugar flowers combined with dried flowers, pampas and gorgeous little bunny tails to give a soft boho feel. This colour palette was such a dream to work with; it’s really lovely to combine soft shades with deeper tones and it suited the venue perfectly. The wedding cake was set up in The Great Hall, which is where the cake cutting and evening reception is held. The cake table was dressed with biodegradable dried petal confetti along with a cute little cake menu card to let the guests know what flavours they would be enjoying once the cake was cut. I love when couples choose to do this, it’s a really lovely personal touch. Flavours chosen were Raspberry & White Chocolate, Coconut & Lime and Spiced Carrot

Beautiful bridesmaid bouquets with a mixture of fresh and dried flowers in shades of blush, mulberry and ivory

The Florist was the lovely Louisa at snowdropsstudio.co.uk who specialises in sustainable Floristry. I have worked with Louisa a few times now and her flowers never disappoint and it's always really lovely to collaborate with her. Prior to the wedding, Louisa sent me the mood board of the flowers she would be providing which enabled me to make sugar flowers to match and fit in with the aesthetics of the day. The fresh and dried flowers worked so perfectly with the sugar flowers on the cake; it all looked so beautiful!

Jen looked absolutely stunning and that gorgeous big smile of hers just radiated happiness and joy!

The bridal party perfectly complimented Jen wearing deep mulberry dresses with beautiful bouquets of fresh and dried flowers for a soft boho feel. Don't they look stunning!

Jen and Steven also went the extra mile and worked with another good friend of mine; the super fun and beautiful soul that is Steph at kelsallchoreo.com who choreographed a special first dance. This is such a fun touch to add to your day, especially if you are able to keep it a secret from your guests. Whether you want to surprise your guests with a show-stopping routine worthy of the Strictly Final, or simply look coordinated and comfortable on the dance floor, Steph’s your girl!

Finally, let’s not forget to mention the talent behind all of these beautiful images; the lovely Jodie of jodiehurdphotography.co.uk

Jodie is also a Recommended Supplier at Clevedon Hall and knows the venue inside and out, which means that she will always know the best shots to get and the best times of day to get them. Jodie is a wonderful photographer and will always make you feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera so you can relax and enjoy your special day! These images show just what a wonderful photographer Jodie is!

Huge thanks to Jen and Steven for allowing me to share their beautiful wedding with you and thank you to Jodie Hurd Photography for the gorgeous images. Congratulations to you both!

I will be back at Clevedon Hall again in a couple of weeks' time with a gorgeous festive wedding cake so look out for that coming soon on my Instagram feed! I hope this has given you some inspiration for your special day and look out for more real weddings very soon!

Much love, Donna x
